Aperent: Island fleet discovery built for direct bookings

APERENT

Aperent needed travellers browsing fleets across the Greek islands to complete their booking within the brand site. The brief centred on clean vehicle discovery for leisure travel — not a simple brochure redesign.

We built on WordPress and WooCommerce via Roots.io Sage, with custom coding throughout the reservation journey. WheelSys ERP connects via a live API at wheelsys.com when end-to-end control is required; otherwise, the native WordPress booking flow takes over.

APERENT

Overview

The Aperent site treats island fleet browsing as the primary conversion path: categories, availability, and checkout are aligned with how leisure travellers compare cars before they arrive.

WheelSys manages live bookings when connected via API. WordPress and Sage keep editorial pages, campaigns, and SEO editable after launch without rebuilding the booking core.

The Challenge

Island leisure demand peaks around ferry and flight arrivals. Aperent needed a site that quickly surfaces the right fleet and closes bookings before visitors leave for aggregators.

Key challenges:

  • Island vehicle categories easy to browse on mobile before making a decision
  • Replacing fragile embedded widgets with WheelSys API or native WordPress bookings
  • Keeping direct bookings on-brand rather than losing them to third-party engines
  • Seasonal content and SEO for leisure searches across the Greek islands

The Solution

We delivered a booking-led Aperent experience on WordPress/Sage, with custom fleet discovery and optional WheelSys ERP integration for operators requiring end-to-end bookings.

Core pillars:

1. Fleet-first discovery for island travel

The category structure and vehicle cards are designed around how visitors shortlist cars, keeping the path from browsing to booking as short as possible.

2. WheelSys API or WordPress bookings

Operations can run WheelSys via API for full booking control, or keep the booking system in WordPress when that better fits the front-desk workflow.

3. Stable Sage foundation

Roots.io Sage keeps the WordPress stack secure and stable, so the marketing team can update island landing pages without breaking checkout.

Performance / Results

Direct bookings for island leisure traffic

Aperent now presents fleet options through a journey designed for leisure demand across the Greek islands, with clearer signals from first browse through to confirmed booking.

WheelSys API or WordPress bookings replace disconnected forms, while the Sage-based WordPress setup supports SEO and campaigns after go-live.

Key Metrics

  • Booking stackWheelSys API or WP
  • CMS foundationWordPress + Sage

The focus is on operational readiness: island-friendly discovery, WheelSys or WordPress bookings, and a stack the marketing team can maintain after launch.

Final Thoughts

Island hire sites perform best when fleet discovery and booking systems stay connected. Aperent's Miles build keeps that journey intact from first scroll to confirmed booking.

Hellenic Technologies pairs WheelSys when operators need ERP depth with WordPress/Sage when they need a resilient, editable public-facing site.
