PHP Backend Developer

We are looking for a Senior PHP back-end developer to join our team, for developing back-end components, connecting the application with the other (often third-party) web services, and supporting the front-end developers by integrating his/her work with the application.

Responsibilities:

Developing, performing, implementing, supporting and monitoring:
  • MySQL database and experience in writing SQL queries
  • JSON, REST, API applications
  • Knowledge of Memcache, Redis, Elasticsearch (at least one of these)
  • SASS, LESS, HAML Preprocessors
  • JavaScript Frameworks (at least one of Node.js, Backbone.js, AngularJS, Ember.js or React)

Skills, Qualifications & Experience:

Developing, performing, implementing, supporting and monitoring:
  • University or College Degree in Computer Science or any other relevant degree
  • Minimum 5 years of working experience
  • Understanding of front-end web technologies like HTML, CSS, and JavaScript (to communicate with team members on the front-end)
  • Ability to manage a hosting environment, including database administration as well as scaling applications to handle load changes
  • Knowledge of accessibility and security compliance
  • Experience with version control, such as Git
  • Problem Solving & troubleshooting Skills in general
  • Fluent in spoken and written English
  • Drive to learn and move beyond current skill set (Learning new technology is a fundamental part of this position)
